Established in 2002 by Dr Caroline (Caz) Folland and formerly known as Reflections Counselling, Reflections offers a range of psychological therapy for individuals, couples and groups from the age of seven.
Reflections has a dedicated team of qualified therapists who offer a range of psychological support, supervision and mediation. As individual members of the BACP or BABCP, Reflections therapists are bound by their ethical framework for good practice. All our therapists are either accredited or working towards accreditation and receive regular supervision in accordance with the requirements of their governing body.
With initial assessment appointments typically within 5-7 working days, Reflections is able to offer psychological support at a time when it is most needed. Our therapists work using a range of therapeutic models and these options can be discussed with you prior to or during the initial assessment appointment.
The therapeutic relationship is very important. You’ll get the best results from your therapy if you’re open and honest with your therapist and say how you’re really feeling. If you’re working effectively together, you should feel safe enough to take risks in disclosing and discussing sensitive issues. That includes being able to give them honest feedback on how you feel about your therapy and how you feel you’re working together! If for any reason you feel uncomfortable about anything in your therapy, please let us know so we can address it.
Dr Caroline Folland (MBACP & BABCP Accredited)
Caz works with children, adolescents and adults and can offer sessions with or without her dog Truffle.
Caz is a fully accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapies (BACP) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), and a member of EMDR Association UK. Over the years she has worked in/with a number of therapy settings including the NHS, Relate, BUPA, AXA and a local school covering a wide range of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, bereavement and sexual abuse. She also supervises a number of therapists/mental health workers from different settings including private practice, counselling students and external organisations working in the field of mental health.
In her personal time, Caz enjoys spending time with the family, cake decorating and cold water swimming.
Truffle
For those clients that are happy to have her in the room, Truffle is our newest team member who works alongside Caz.. Since a very young puppy, she has been meeting clients with a view to her becoming an emotional support dog when fully mature. Whilst she doesn’t always know how to act professionally, now two, she is much less excitable and on the whole, becoming more relaxed. That said, the initial excited scramble to meet clients is a work in progress (especially as she has a rather loud bark). Whilst Truffle adores women and children, she can still be a little nervous of men so building her confidence is next on her agenda!
Truffle loves a belly rub, long walks and a good paddle whenever she gets the chance.
Jade Houghton (MBACP)
Jade works with adolescents and adults.
Jade qualified as a therapeutic counsellor in 2020 and is a registered member of the BACP. She has been working at Reflections since a second year counselling student in 2019 and offers a person-centred and CBT approach to therapy.
Jade has experience in working with a wide range of issues such as bereavement, family & relationships, anxiety, stress and self-esteem. Her aim as a counsellor, is to offer a space where clients can develop on their personal therapy journey.
Outside the counselling room, Jade enjoys spending time outdoors with her two children, running, cycling and getting in the sea!

Chris Spindler
Chris has been helping out at Reflections since 2012, with the general smooth running of the office admin. She is certainly not afraid to get her hands dirty and can often be found hoovering, mowing the lawn, cleaning windows or tending to the plants in the office garden!
In her spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with the family, walking her dog, play reading and pottering in her own garden at home.
At times, Reflections has been able to offer a few placements to counselling students training to become counsellors. Whilst this gives them the opportunity of working with clients to gain experience before they become qualified, it also gives us the opportunity to help mould them into becoming competent, professional therapists of the future. Sessions with counselling students when available, are offered at a reduced fee.
